A nice funny text to read: The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity.
I play bass guitar since the end of 2001, and double bass since 2006. I am involved in the following bands:

Cream - Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger
Baker.
Three virtuosos, period. The band's music is a fusion of blues, pop,
and psychedelia. Truly influential to me. Songs I like:
Crossroads, White Room, Deserted Cities of the
Heart, Spoonful, and so many others. A few years ago, I
fell in love with the music of Cream. I was so amazed by Jack's
basslines that I decided to become a bassplayer myself.

Mountain - Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi,
Corky Laing, and Steve Knight.
I was looking for bands that sound like Cream, and I discovered
Mountain. A mixture of hard rock and psychedelia. The band started
after Leslie's first album, Mountain, which was produced by
Felix, who also played bass on the album. One of my favourite songs
is Blood of the sun, where you mostly hear Leslie's harsh
voice over Felix's overdriven bass. Other great songs: Southbound
Train, Sittin' on a Rainbow, Don't Look Around.
West, Bruce & Laing.
When Mountain split up in 1972, Leslie and Corky reformed a band with
Jack Bruce. If you like heavy guitars and inventive basslines, this is
for you! My two favourite songs on the album Why Dontcha are
The Doctor, and Love is Worth the Blues. The album
Live 'N' Kickin' contains an outstanding bass solo:
Powerhouse Sod.

Jack Bruce.
My first inspiration as a bassplayer.
I probably wouldn't be a bassplayer today if I hadn't listened to him.
His dexterity and knowledge of harmony are quite unique. And he is
impressive as a singer, too.

Felix Pappalardi.
Producer for Cream, then for some of Jack's solo albums.
Producer and bassplayer of Mountain.
His basslines are amongst the most melodic I have ever heard.
Check out For Yasgur's Farm from Mountain, for instance.
